Dr. Scot Sorum grew up in the small town of Walker, Minnesota, where his parents owned and operated the local pharmacy. From age 12, he worked summers and after school at the family pharmacy, developing an early understanding of healthcare and community service. When he wasn’t working, Dr. Sorum spent countless hours swimming, skiing, and fishing in the beautiful Leech Lake area, developing a deep love for the outdoors that continues today – he still feels calmer up north than in the city.
Dr. Sorum’s path to chiropractic began during his high school years in Walker, where he was part of a small graduating class of just 65 students in 1990. He actively participated in football, wrestling, and baseball. It was a wrestling injury that first sent him to a chiropractor, beginning his journey toward becoming a doctor himself.
After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Dr. Sorum pursued his chiropractic education at Northwestern College of Chiropractic, becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic in November 1996.
Dr. Sorum founded Twin Cities Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in 2001, establishing a practice built on his core belief in helping people improve their lives through overall health, not just pain relief. In 2002, he moved the practice to its current location at 506 Lexington Parkway North in St. Paul, where it has served the community for over two decades.
In 2006, Dr. Sorum married Bree Sorum, who also grew up in Walker and is now a teacher in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. They have four children – two girls and two boys – and their lives are very busy, to say the least! When Dr. Sorum isn’t working, he’s definitely spending time with his children, balancing his professional dedication with his commitment to family.
“Helping People Improve Their Lives Through Overall Health”
Dr. Sorum firmly believes in helping people improve their lives by working on their overall health, not just pain symptoms. Although relieving pain is one of the main goals of his practice, he advocates that his patients make life choices that keep them on a path to good spinal health. This holistic approach has guided Twin Cities Chiropractic for over 20 years.
