JOY VANG

Joy recalls that when she was a young child, she would watch her father perform a massage technique similar to acupuncture. There’s not a specific term used for this unique method, but she was fascinated with the healing powers of this technique. Her true inspiration would stem from this significant memory. Being able to heal with massage was what she knew would be a rewarding path for her.

As a young woman, she loved working with her hands. So she’d help her mother cook, fix cars with her brothers, or take apart and reassemble small projects.

In 2000, she graduated high school from a small town in Wisconsin and took to her lifelong experiences to another state. Joy moved to Minnesota to pursue her interest in Culinary Arts.

Joy worked at a prestigious restaurant right out of culinary school where she led as Head Chef. Her culinary skill focused mainly on taste and texture, whereas her creative side leaned towards presentation and balance. After years of mastering and leading a successful life as a chef, she felt the need to take a different path in life.

Joy’s transition from the creative eye of a chef to the skillful hand techniques of a massage therapist started and continues to be an amazing journey. In 2014, she completed her Massage Therapy education at Everest Institute in Eagan, MN. She specializes in Deep Tissue with integrated massage techniques. Modalities often incorporated are: Myofascial Release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and Trigger-Point Therapy.

Currently she works alongside with Dr. Sorum, treating those patients related to auto injuries and rehabilitation.

She believes in the body’s ability to heal itself with the help of massage therapy-which is one of the most beneficial paths to restoring health and wholeness to the body. She strongly supportand advises on self-care awareness. Her techniques and methods are adapted each session uniquely to accommodate to your health and wellbeing.
